    If at this point you don't realize that there are enough laws on the books to convict almost any one you haven't been around the block I'm talking about let alone anywhere near the neighborhood.

    Government prosecution is a choice, in cases like this.

    The government doesn't enforce every broken statute by everyone it catches.

    I was kind of thinking that as well when I first saw this thread. He could of been in his 20's and she coulda been a like 17yr old who got into a bar so he didnt know. But guess we have to wait to find out.

    He is convinced that the poker world is to greedy to give a ... care ... about how their actions affect poker in the long run.

    From the WSOP prize pool and cost being completely paid for by the players and the WSOP keeping all the sponsor money. To the fact that all your average players seems to care about is how they are doing. Look at FT's recent botgate of the various high profile cheating going on. No one cares as long as they get their 3 or 4 BB's an hour off as many tables as they can.

    Then when we're not grinding out a few bucks, we come to the forums here and on others, 2+2 is the worst, and fight amongst ourselves.

    IMP our fight is with Congress, they passed the F'ed law.

    The "Agencies" are trying to bribe the banks to treat us all like some sort of narco-terrorists and stop us from playing poker on-line from the privacy of our own homes.

    Congress passed IMO an Unconstitutional law, the Agencies are trying to get the Banks to help them keep Congress from looking like complete fools.

    If if we can convince enough of us are pissed off and will sue if they try to decided which of our monthly bank and credit card transactions are or might even in the least favorible light be associated with "illegal" poker playing. Perhaps they will tell the "Agancies" to tell Congress, sorry you'll have to write a real world law.

    Mrs Hoak in 4th grade has us read the Constitution, where if she didn't lie to us all poor children, issues of legality are a uniquely governmental function, and the government can not ask or force anyone else to do that job for them.

    In addition the UIGEA gives the banks and credit cards a liability free pass, incase they mess up and block the wrong transactions. I remember Mrs Hoak talking about our cherished "due process" rights.

    Or were all of you asleep or stoned that day?

    Have fun with this crap. Figure out what you have given e-pass and tell your local bank as soon as the law is defeated in court you will be back looking for a refund!

    Ok ok CC I get what your saying and its all good. But too many people just throw my name out there lately. Mostly Strasse. The reason i said the poker thing is because I didnt want you to bring it up to argue your point because I know this thread isnt about that. Also I have done 2 years of University but I got stressed out and stopped trying so i failed a few classes and I am taking a year or 2 off. Although when I try I get A's not trying is a bad thing.

    The point is the "chilling" message the government seems to be sending to the poker world, IMO.

    The Lennon issue had nothing to do with pot, but all to do with the power Nixion felt Lennon had and the direction the "music" and message was sending to the kids. Well we're adults now.

    Sheik, near as I can tell pissed off (upset) a woman who he didn't know was barely "underaged." He was on the wrong side of the law, and took his punishment like a man. As far as I know he wasn't showing his wanker to 10 year olds. Also he hasn't show a single indication of any type or repeate behavior common in those with a problem in this area, most child predators can't stop no matter the personal cost. Just ask the Church.

    But I digress.

    IMO this action has nothing to do with him being a convicted felon nor even a child predator. The predator was actually the US Federal Government with a program ironically called the Preadator Program.

    Sure. What I'm saying is that the American criminal justice system gives people "the benefit of the doubt," at least in the sense that people are innocent until proven guilty, and, for them to be proven guilty, it needs to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

    The reason that standard exists is because we don't want to take away the liberty of innocent people. It has absolutely nothing to do with something totally harmless like what you or me think of him, and it shows a complete misunderstanding of, well...everything, to think that we somehow need to give someone "the benefit of the doubt" when all it has to do with is what we think of him.

    Me thinking Sheikhan is a disgusting sexual predator isn't going to put him behind bars, therefore, I don't need to adhere to some weird standard like "beyond a reasonable doubt" when it comes to my opinion of him. I don't need to do some sort of complete investigation to make sure I'm not wrong, because he's not going to jail based on my opinion. I can read a couple of stories and come to my own decision. Sure, if I cared more, I could delve into the facts to make sure my opinion is correct, but why would I care? I've done due diligence to a point. I'm not going to make it my life's work.

    It's a similar mistake to the people who think they have some First Amendment right to free speech on a private forum. Just a lack of understanding.

    Good. Boot him out of here. Frankly, I'm upset they didn't deport him after his original conviction. As soon as he got out of jail he should have been picked up by Immigration and detained for deportation.

    It is blown out of proportion thanks to H o m e l a n d S e c u r i t y.

    The girl was 17. Not a child.

    It was a misdemeanor. Not a felony.

    Not only did he serve his time. He served his probation. And he is being charged for a method of deportation that was invented years after he completely served his sentence.

    It's part of a witch hunt brought to You by the ICE folks at Homeland Security.

    You know those folks, right?

    They're the ones next to other folks protecting you by confiscating your money because at some point in the past, that one hundred dollar bill you're using has been rolled up to sniff coke in a Barcelona hotel, and is now hard core evidence that the entire bankwad of withdrawal you've just received should actually be the government's because it has been connected with drug operations.

    I really believe you should read up on the Immigration and Nationality Act. It explains very clearly about criminals and how it affects nationalized citizens. An Immigration judge will make a determination.
