I think I'm missing something here. Where is the article about nixon going after John Lennon ?
Also, What does pot have to do with rape ?
Damn straight. Let's teach the Iranian people that it pays to be pro-American. Deport them all!
Brilliant foreign policy... take the one Muslim country in the world that has a pro-America population and piss on as many of them as possible! Teh w00t, w00t.
Please don't take this the wrong way but how old are you?
I'll take even a decade of birth, HS, College, or Grad school.
If at this point you don't realize that there are enough laws on the books to convict almost any one you haven't been around the block I'm talking about let alone anywhere near the neighborhood.
Government prosecution is a choice, in cases like this.
The government doesn't enforce every broken statute by everyone it catches.
Like MacNamarra was quoted during the Cuban Missile Crisis there is a launguage and from of communication going on here you seem to be incapible of understanding.
D$D
Right on. I can roll with that.
This was part of the article so he could be a child molester but I guess we should wait until its all cleared up.
and served nine months in jail after the 1995 conviction for 'sexual battery and annoyance or molestation of a child,'
And let's not forget they don't have professional gamblers there, either. Obviously, our psychotic government insists on playing along with sick fundamentalist muslims. If they do deport him, they just signed his death sentence... all over an over-blown statitory rape case.
I thought maybe someone would find this interesting. It sounds like the Sheik is in some hot water: http://www.pokernews.com/news/2007/09/shawn-sheikhan-faces-deportation-hearing.htm
there are no homosexuals or child molesters in or from iran.this man could not have commited these crimes.
I'll assume you don't know about how they've been stripped of any decision making ability since 9/11 and are now denaturalizing and deporting people with, for example a juvenile conviction for shoplifting $10 worth of Tylenol.
Because by assuming that, I can avoid wanting to kill you slowly.
Just a few more...

It doesn't say he was a child molester. I find Sheikan to be rather annoying, but I think we should at least give him the benefit of the doubt until we find out the whole story.
Guy's an ass, but are some of you really saying we should deport anyone who's committed a misdemeanor? Or, heaven forbid, anyone who's tapped some hot 17 year old tail?
Bullsh*t like this is why I have to look over my shoulder and wonder if ICE is coming to get me. Stupid effing BS. If this is the best government in the world (and it sure seems to be), anarchists look absolutely brilliant in contrast.
Maybe you're willing to sell your ass for $12 and less, but I'm not.
And I've haven't spent more than 12 bucks on a tourney entry in at least 2 years - I play them for cheap entertainment value. Kind of like the clients you sell your ass to at ten bucks a pop, I imagine.
But sorry for getting off topic and insulting... you were saying something about how you think "losing your ass" is less than a McDonald's happy meal.
(And you still seem perplexed as to why I think you're a moron. )
I was kind of thinking that as well when I first saw this thread. He could of been in his 20's and she coulda been a like 17yr old who got into a bar so he didnt know. But guess we have to wait to find out.
Mike the Mouth is either on the right or wrong medication now, depending on your take of his views in a recent interview.
He is convinced that the poker world is to greedy to give a ... care ... about how their actions affect poker in the long run.
From the WSOP prize pool and cost being completely paid for by the players and the WSOP keeping all the sponsor money. To the fact that all your average players seems to care about is how they are doing. Look at FT's recent botgate of the various high profile cheating going on. No one cares as long as they get their 3 or 4 BB's an hour off as many tables as they can.
Then when we're not grinding out a few bucks, we come to the forums here and on others, 2+2 is the worst, and fight amongst ourselves.
IMP our fight is with Congress, they passed the F'ed law.
The "Agencies" are trying to bribe the banks to treat us all like some sort of narco-terrorists and stop us from playing poker on-line from the privacy of our own homes.
And you all just want to argue.
Someone has the best sig line; arguing on the internet is like being in the special Olympics -- even if you win you are still RETARDED!
Congress passed IMO an Unconstitutional law, the Agencies are trying to get the Banks to help them keep Congress from looking like complete fools.
How many of you have expressed you opinion to your banker?
If if we can convince enough of us are pissed off and will sue if they try to decided which of our monthly bank and credit card transactions are or might even in the least favorible light be associated with "illegal" poker playing. Perhaps they will tell the "Agancies" to tell Congress, sorry you'll have to write a real world law.
Mrs Hoak in 4th grade has us read the Constitution, where if she didn't lie to us all poor children, issues of legality are a uniquely governmental function, and the government can not ask or force anyone else to do that job for them.
In addition the UIGEA gives the banks and credit cards a liability free pass, incase they mess up and block the wrong transactions. I remember Mrs Hoak talking about our cherished "due process" rights.
Or were all of you asleep or stoned that day?
Have fun with this crap. Figure out what you have given e-pass and tell your local bank as soon as the law is defeated in court you will be back looking for a refund!
D$D
Whoa whoa dont just bring me into it for doing nothing wrong. You may think you are up on a pedestal on these forums CC but I bet in real life your not as intellegent as all your followers make you out to be.
PS Yes you have great poker skills and knowledge but we arent talking about poker here.
Maybe great poker skills, but loses his Butt on online tournaments. About his pedestal, It's what he sits on to empty his food he ate last night.
Is anyone here old enough to remember Nixon and Hoover going after John Lennon for an old pot charge? If you listened to the "tapes" Tricky Dick was actually convinced Lennon was a threat to national security!
This and the report from the:
Kiplinger Business Forecasts
Vol 8, week of Jun 8, 2007
Congress Will Push IRS to Get Tougher with Scofflaws
THE IRS WILL BECOME MORE OF A HEAT-SEEKING MISSILE IN THE WAY IT TARGETS WHO GETS AUDITED.
(reprinted in part)
* Sole proprietors, who often underreport income and inflate write-offs.
* S corporations and partnerships, especially S company owners who take dividends instead of salaries to minimize payroll tax liability.
* Gamblers who may underreport their winnings or who subtract losses from winnings instead of reporting them as miscellaneous itemized deductions, as the law requires.
* Part-time farmers, who aren't supposed to use losses from farming to reduce their other income if they're just pursuing a hobby and not running a business.
* Taxpayers who itemize deductions on Schedule A. Errors occur most often with medical costs, charitable contributions and job-related expenses.
* Earned income tax credits taken by individuals who don't qualify.
* Investors who don't report capital gains properly. These include gains on sales of vacation homes, rental units, business property and farmland.
I maybe paranoid but sometimes there really are people after me................
D$D
Ok ok CC I get what your saying and its all good. But too many people just throw my name out there lately. Mostly Strasse. The reason i said the poker thing is because I didnt want you to bring it up to argue your point because I know this thread isnt about that. Also I have done 2 years of University but I got stressed out and stopped trying so i failed a few classes and I am taking a year or 2 off. Although when I try I get A's not trying is a bad thing.
I was referring to your mindless spam storm from a few weeks ago to get to forum pro. At least you stopped making mindless, spam posts. (More or less, anyway.) Four Asses hasn't, and I suspect he can't, as he hasn't had an original thought in his life... based on his blind adherence to government standards and authority in general. I can sleep happy at night knowing that he's the type of person this nation's greatest heroes became famous for killing.
What makes you say that? I've done nothing to indicate that i think I am or bleong up on a pedestal...
And whose fault is that? I blame the competition. When you're competing against donkeys, all of a sudden, it's really easy to look incredibly brilliant in comparison. Blame the general level of idiocy around here (which you were a huge part of not too long ago), instead of trying to somehow turning it on me for not dumbing myself down.
And pick your battles, man... ask yourself if you really want to be debating who is and isn't intelligent on this forum, given your reputation... and then just be smart and drop it.
Right, we're talking about something entirely different, and have been long since before you came up. I don't know what possessed you to point out the blindly obvious fact everyone in this thread already knew, but my lack of respect for Four Asses has nothing to do with his poker skills. Nor does my assessment of anything else in this thread. That would be based on my 2nd (or third, depending on how you look at it) undergraduate degree in history with a focus on Modern Military Affairs.
But I digress... I think you were about to say something about how despite knowing a lot about poker, I don't know a lot about the topic at hand, which is closely intertwined with one of my completed university degrees. Say, didn't you say a while back that you'll soon be starting university?
Well that is why I asked if any one was old enough to actually remember it, Nixon and Lennon that is......
The point is the "chilling" message the government seems to be sending to the poker world, IMO.
The Lennon issue had nothing to do with pot, but all to do with the power Nixion felt Lennon had and the direction the "music" and message was sending to the kids. Well we're adults now.
Sheik, near as I can tell pissed off (upset) a woman who he didn't know was barely "underaged." He was on the wrong side of the law, and took his punishment like a man. As far as I know he wasn't showing his wanker to 10 year olds. Also he hasn't show a single indication of any type or repeate behavior common in those with a problem in this area, most child predators can't stop no matter the personal cost. Just ask the Church.
But I digress.
IMO this action has nothing to do with him being a convicted felon nor even a child predator. The predator was actually the US Federal Government with a program ironically called the Preadator Program.
To morph a line from The Right Stuff: "The issue isn't pu$$y... The issue is Poker!"
If that gets bleeped it is a name for a kitten and a slang reference to a part of the female anatomy.
D$D
No, FYP.
Jackass. You're just as bad as Izan, only with a very thin veneer of intelligence that everyone sees through.
whats with all these arabs being child molesters???
no racist
Sure. What I'm saying is that the American criminal justice system gives people "the benefit of the doubt," at least in the sense that people are innocent until proven guilty, and, for them to be proven guilty, it needs to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
The reason that standard exists is because we don't want to take away the liberty of innocent people. It has absolutely nothing to do with something totally harmless like what you or me think of him, and it shows a complete misunderstanding of, well...everything, to think that we somehow need to give someone "the benefit of the doubt" when all it has to do with is what we think of him.
Me thinking Sheikhan is a disgusting sexual predator isn't going to put him behind bars, therefore, I don't need to adhere to some weird standard like "beyond a reasonable doubt" when it comes to my opinion of him. I don't need to do some sort of complete investigation to make sure I'm not wrong, because he's not going to jail based on my opinion. I can read a couple of stories and come to my own decision. Sure, if I cared more, I could delve into the facts to make sure my opinion is correct, but why would I care? I've done due diligence to a point. I'm not going to make it my life's work.
It's a similar mistake to the people who think they have some First Amendment right to free speech on a private forum. Just a lack of understanding.
Good. Boot him out of here. Frankly, I'm upset they didn't deport him after his original conviction. As soon as he got out of jail he should have been picked up by Immigration and detained for deportation.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out, ***hole.
Please stop mistaking the criminal courts with the court of public opinion. It's a huge pet peeve of mine, maybe because it's hugely retarded. Telling people what they "should" think, especially as the result of completely misapplying principles, is pure ignorance.
I don't get what you're trying to say jobe. Could you explain?
I don't know if I agree or disagree with you. I'm just trying to get it straight.
It's probably better that you don't.
From the hilarious thread on 2+2 :

lol u didnt get it
YEAH! Let's ship those ****** back!
While there are some arabs in Iran, Iranians are not arabs. You may not be a racist, but you certainly make bad generalizations.
It is blown out of proportion thanks to H o m e l a n d S e c u r i t y.
The girl was 17. Not a child.
It was a misdemeanor. Not a felony.
Not only did he serve his time. He served his probation. And he is being charged for a method of deportation that was invented years after he completely served his sentence.
It's part of a witch hunt brought to You by the ICE folks at Homeland Security.
You know those folks, right?
They're the ones next to other folks protecting you by confiscating your money because at some point in the past, that one hundred dollar bill you're using has been rolled up to sniff coke in a Barcelona hotel, and is now hard core evidence that the entire bankwad of withdrawal you've just received should actually be the government's because it has been connected with drug operations.
Homeland Security - freshen up your life with ICE.
sorry thought it was 83 not 95 .never mind my last post lol.
Ship him, We don't need him in the USA...
Wow, was it common knowledge that he's a sexual predator?
Wow I thought Sheiki was annoying and kind of a bad player. but never thought he was a child molester. I agree he should be deported. I dont want to think what might happen to him in Iran if they know he is a child molester.
How old was he , it was in 1983 It could have been statutory rape blown out of proportion It happens all the time.
I really believe you should read up on the Immigration and Nationality Act. It explains very clearly about criminals and how it affects nationalized citizens. An Immigration judge will make a determination.
