    Do you guys consider Howard Lederer a solid player? I don't remember the last time I've seen Lederer do anything in the poker world, yet I don't think anyone would question his game. Why then does Phil Gordon get the bum rap.

    His books are great learning tools. He has performed well in the tourney's I've seen him in.

    There is nothing wrong with playing nuts and bolts poker like him. There is nothing wrong with playing loose gamble poker like Lindgren.

    hahaha ....Good stuff as usual dude.

    Phil may not be a pro,but he is around these games constantly observing most of the action.I think his observation is fine,but when he wrote the article it did come off a little insulting.

    Phil may not be a pro poker player and as you guys say...he doesn't make a living off of gambling at the game,but is he not a pro observer?As a professional poker observer I think his observations are probably not too far off,afterall most would agree that his book is a good read.

    Well, I guess Daniel told him off lol. The comment about Phil being a non professional poker player I thought was a bit harsh. Apparently, he thinks he's a commentator who writes books

    Five WSOP final tables(including a 4th place in the ME) and a WPT win. Yeah Phil Gordon sucks. I know we all know how well he plays in big cash games, because we all play in them with him. Monitor his comings and goings, sure. He's like another poker commentator that sucks at poker, Mike Sexton. How these guys have managed to accomplish anything is beyond me. How dare they consider themselves pros.

    Brunson must suck now too, seeing as the majority of his income doesn't come from playing poker anymore either. Dumbass goes and takes advantage of his name and popularity and cashes in on it. What a sellout.

    good poker needs more bad blood more then ever right now

    No grudge as a poker player, however his drift into commenting on politics etc made it clear that he is somewhat of a dim bulb.

    Maybe there is also more of a feud between the two than any of us know. If you really think about it, all signs kind of point to it.

    -Phil's first paragraph points out that he has obviously heard that Erick thinks that he is a donkey.

    -Phil says that E-Dog has 2 bi weaknesses in his game.

    -Daniel, who has a bigger voice in the poker community and is a very close friend of E-Dog's, comes out with a verbal bashing of Phil's game.

    Who knows. I'd imagine that the situation doesn't die here.

    Doubtful, from Dannys side he after all may be the nuts at poker but from what I have seen is not the brightest bulb in most other things. Gordon may be using it as a ploy, but he is sitting very fat from his .com days so would only be doing it for fun, much like starting a thread about a global warming movie here.

    Zophar, I'm not directly disagreeing with you, but anybody who plays enough big-time tournaments is going to have some quality finishes. Play solid nuts-and-bolts poker and play frequently and you'll make some final tables...how could you not?

    I think Gordon hit the nail on the head re Eric L. In watching him and others on the telly and even playing against him, twice online in tourneys the assessment that Eric like to gamble a lot (hell of a lot) is spot on. Gordon has been doing well in poker after dark against some good folk (mike sexton, Howard Lederer) making some great moves on them.

    Danny has become erratic of late, hell marriage is supposed to calm you down and center you but it seems first he goes ga ga over golf, then blows over a million on HSP then some poor showings on the tournament trail so lets say he is human and leave it at that. Clarity comes with distance and in this case, Phil not being as close to Erik as Danny is would lend to a bit clearer perspective IMO.

    Can a mod remove that giant fraking pic from that idiot's sig? And while we're at it make a rule against having giant fraking sigs. Oh, and enforce the rule against idiots typing in all caps by maybe giving him a warning.

    I think you guys are making too much of this article. What's wrong with pointing out someone's weaknesses? It's just his opinion. It's not a diss. I sure he's ever mentioned this to Erick.

    And btw, Phil's probably played Erick enough to know what he's talking about.

    Or maybe they are just playing it up for publicity. A public feud is a perfect means of generating lots and lots of press without actually having to do anything. Guarenteed that if this is a feud (real or contrived) both of them sell a bunch of books.

    I think that Phil will come out and publicly apologize while at the same time defending himself by saying DN took his statement out of context. I don't see these two characters starting a feud. I imagine the hatchet will be buried shortly. Definetly interesting IMO though.

    I have said it before, I am saying it now, and I will say it again...

    Phil Gordon is a moron!

    And NO, the guy is not a pro. He doesn't play the high stakes tournament circuit, he doesn't play the high stakes cash games and he doesn't support himself playing poker.

    He is no more a pro than Jerry Buss, Gabe Kaplan or Jenifer Tilly.

    Never noticed that,but I do notice that when my neighbor hits a flop or gets a hand in our home game he looks down at his chipstack before it is even his turn to act.
