This is a joke when the betting is set at a certain amount. Betting is skillful, calculated, intimidating, strategic etc.... but all this is taken away when there is only one option to bet. How can you bet your pocket 7s from the beginning and try to run someone off when - instead, he stays in with the limit betting and hits his inside straight.

This is like a football coach only being able to call the same play no matter what the circumstance.

Can we get some 1-5, 2-10, 5-25 etc betting here and play real poker instead of just deal the cards out and see who wins

-500,000. Usually the only time spread limit is offered is at low stakes in casinos, 1-5, 2-10, or 3-15. If you go any higher than that, it is always fixed limit. As far as I know, the better players usually rise to the top, and play the higher levels, which are fixed limit, while spread limit is at the bottom, where all the bad players are, who love all the action.

Well if the higher stakes takes care of the issue, why not just move to those? If your answer is too high of stakes, then doing 1-5 spread limit would still be too high. If you want something like .2-1 spread limit, you would still get all the chasers, since the limits are still low.

I understand - but sometimes people are content with the current manner of play b/c they are just unaware of other alternatives. I believe the better players would prefer spread limit. Again, do you have influence on this just to see if this (a spread limit game) can be offered.

Yes, I've seen 1-5 and 2-10. Maybe the higher stakes takes care of the same issue. It's too expensive to chase - in low stakes set limit it is easy to chase - that's the problem in my opinion. Even in 1-5 - if you raise the initial bet on the first 3 cards of $1 to $4 or $5- chasers get out. I'm still winning in this set limit - but it's not as comfortable just b/c I know the betting is not getting anyone out like it should. It just seemed easy to take the set limit game and alter the betting.

And sometimes the "better players" are there for more money so they will gravitate to the higher limit tables

Seriously though, a big part of poker is adapting. If you identify a player as one who will start off 3 flushed, then chase it after all the folded cards matched their suit, let them. Players who chase too much in stud lose, and thats where you take advatage of them, among other things.Last edited by OpDS311 on Tue Jul 31, 2007 9:51 pm; edited 1 time in total

Unfortunately moderators don't have any influence on game additions to the client. If we did, I'd be playing 2-7 triple draw and 5 card draw regularly. Adding games is a major event.

Do you still play on "that other site" for those games? I was thinking or redepositing there to play some 5 card and 2-7

Sorry for the reaction that you got from the confusion. Alot of people barge in here making outrageous statements and requests, and unfortunately, the request came across negatively to those that find no problem with the current manner of play.
