how about having a regular, say weekly, $1 FTP Forum buyin, open to all FTP players who can afford it, with nothing necessarily added on.

the only other poker site where i log on nowadays besides FTP has a weekly $1 event for its forum members, and its a lot of fun. sometimes they add on something. lately the winner gets an entry into their weekly guaranteed...hint, hint! lol...or, just a good old FTP t-shirt or FTP points would suffice too.

my point is, besides all the segmented/specialized forum-involved pvt events that already exist, an FTP Forum event of this kind would be cool, uniting pretty much all of FTP members regardless of post count, bankroll size, skill level, etc etc etc. all you need is one measly buck. a dollar and a dream.

tilters rick/doug, what do you guys say?Last edited by BDMK on Sat Jan 27, 2007 3:57 pm; edited 2 times in total

wheres the no limit $1 forum event? And perhaps a forum player would have to be a certain ranking to get into certain tourneys like a straight to get into the horse events or a royal flush to get into the no limit hold em event. So only certain players with rankings get passwords for certain events. Would make players make more posts on the site so they can gain acess to other tourneys

o well it was just a sugesstion but where do you find the passwords for these are they hidden in the forum like the other forum events from the past?

  4.

You really don't need rick or doug to get this thing off the ground. All you have to do is email with the necessary details of your tournament (date, time, buy-in, ftp pts, password), and you should be set.

im fine searching for the passwords for special events like the 200+ or Forum Freerolls, but i dont really want to find one every week to play a tourny im part of. MBJ pw is the same right?

Is it alright with everybody if I shoot FTP an email bout this, or has somebody else done that already?

I think since it's open to all the password should be readily available. I don't think it needs to be stickied, but it doesn't need to be hidden either. Just make it 'forum' like the other MBJ weekly tournaments. I imagine there will be a lot of interest for it (since it's only a buck), and probably a lot of new people coming to the forum because of it. Not a bad thing. And since it's not a freeroll and there's nothing added to it, I don't think we need to make people search for it when they come here looking for it like we do with out other special 'forum only' tournies... Also I think it should be NLHE. I love all the games (well except stud, but we all know stud is the spawn of satan, so it's impossible to love it), and I'd love to have other $5 weekly tournaments of other games, but this dollar one should be NLHE... That's my thought anyway.

also, the pass shouldnt be hidden, but instead the FTF ty info should be stickied in all the FTF subforums. im not worried about the freeroll chasers, obviously, so everyone else whos an FTP player and an FTF member with a buck to spare should be able to play.

and as for the game, although personally im just a NLHE ty player, to be fair to all, i think it should also have omaha, stud, HORSE etc etc in the future...

In addition to the $1 game on Saturday there is also the $10+1 FTP Forum Wicked Cool Series tomorrow at 8 PM server time. It's a DS PLO game -- if you're interested.

    DC11GE,

If you were serious about $5 to take me out today, then Tierra gets it. Tierra took me out in 3rd and went on to win it.

I'm sorry if my call on our last hand together upset you. Im not sure why...I cannot find the hand history to see why you were so upset. I will go into a Razz hand sometimes with 3 starting cards under 8 (which I had) and I called from there because you were low and it did not take that much out of my chip stack to gamble on possibly putting you out - which after all is the point of a tournament - to outlast as many players as possible. We were still playing the Razz section, weren't we? If it had just switched to Stud, then I missed it and you would have had every right to be mad - but in that case I do not see how I could have won the hand anyway. I still cannot find the hand history in my file to look at it. Anyway sorry if it did upset you. I enjoy the forum and the tourneys and really like to keep it light.

    Suggestions for title?

Rick, in lieu of prizes can we get it setup as $1 with no fee? If not, no problem.

I'd like to see a series where the game changed each week. Once the tournament had run through all the games, it'd go back to the first one and start all over. I don't think the order of the games matters either, but if I was setting it up, I'd probably do:

    NLHE

    HORSE

    HA

    FLHE

    PLO

    Stud

    Razz

    PLO8

    Stud8

I'd like to hear back from Rick regarding the fee and from others regarding title and thoughts on multiple games vs just NLHE. Once I've heard from some people I'm more than happy to email support to set this up.

Edit: I wanted to add that there wouldn't be any tracking of this series (at least not by me). There are enough of those types of series already. It would just be a regular weekly game.

I'm really new (just a few months of playing poker and new to forum) I would like to play. This sounds like fun. I'm not very good at finding my way around yet, where can I go to sign up and where do I go on site to find out about things like this?

If anyone has some suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. Eventually, I would like to be able to truly participate in the Forum.

I know this may sound stupid to some but can anyone explain a Thread and how do you follow it?

Thanks in advance to anyone who reads this and is willing to reply.

To all a wish ofr a Happy, Healthy, Successful New Year !!!!!

  7.

Personally I prefer Razz myself, but I know that NLHE is the most popular choice, so I would like to suggest a schedule.

1st Sat of the month: NL HE

2nd Sat of the month: PL HA

3rd Sat of the month NL HE 6

4th Sat of the month FL HORSE

5th Sat of the month FL HE (Apr, Jul, Sep, Dec only)

  8.

1 pm west coast time (the 4 pm sat as suggested) would be fine with me. Ill have enough time to wake up, take a piss, run to my computer and register with 1 minute left. Count me in.

Yeh Chris I agree with that point. Its just that it makes it more fun to work for the password rather than have it given to me. But I respect your point as sometimes feel to tired to search for it.

As for a solution I am stumped. Anyone have any ideas on what we should do about the password?

I propose that we have Rick set this up for 4pm EST on Saturday afternoons, and see what happens. If only a few people show up and people think that there would be more if it were held at 4:30 or something, than it can be changed at a later time.

Count me in. Saturday afternoons is good for me too. (I'm a working stiff, so the whole Mon-Fri, 9-5 isn't good for me). Most evenings, I'm too damned tired to play good poker, but Saturdays are usually really good days for me.

Yeh thats a great idea everyone. Count me in and thanks to everyone who supports the time change. Fianlly I can ply without having to stay up till 4am. A saturday as well this is even better.

As for the password being hidden its a measure to make people work for it and hopefully become more involved in the forum. I throughly enjoy searching for the password because get more involved and write more. So I support hiding the password and keeping it away from those who just want it to be given to them.

sorry if this was mentioned earlier in the thread but i still want qualification. is this strictly a message board tourny? or is it open to everyone. If it is just a private message board, isnt it just a cheap(er) version of the MBJ nights? This isnt saying im not for the idea, i love it and cant wait to play it, just want some clarifications.

I think this is a great time for an afternoon game. Early enough for the east coast, and late enough on the west... This is what I would have suggested too...
