I would like to see FTP do away with this. I'm a member of a staking site, and a lot of us would like to offer stakes on FTP. Problem is, if you want to stake someone into a smaller event, you still have to transfer at least $5. And then when (if) they win, if your share of the winnings is less than $5, they have no way of getting it to you. In addition, in order to maintain the site, the owners charge a 5% fee on winnings. Even if you won $10 for example, 5% is only .50, and you have no way to pay.
If FTP implemented this change, many of us that play here infrequently (or not at all) would begin playing much more regularly here.
LOL
They won't change it unless someone asks. I guess I'm the guy. Now if enough people agree with me..........
Sorry, but there's no excuse for not knowing how to spell.
No need to change the rule.
This is a poker site, not a staking site
I'm bumping this to see if it will be deleted like the thread on the same subject that was started last week.
Not cool. That FTP would delete 7 page threads that obviously stirred interest makes me wonder if this site is worth my business.
thnx about the sig comment. I guess it is almost begging but not really. I was half joking anyways. Ill just edit it a bit.
I think you've missed the point. I am from another site (not Full Tilt) that does the staking. But when you stake someone, you stake them to play poker. So you need a poker site for them to play on. Didn't I mention the piece about there being a long history of poker players being staked? It's a big part of the game. I'm pretty sure TJ Cloutier is staked into nearly every event he plays, and probably the most famous instance is Stu Ungar's final WSOP, where he was staked into the event only minutes before it started and then won his third ME championship.
Lmao, what's up dude, I remember you from NeverBeg (ZOMG I SAID IT!). Do you have AIM?
PS: I apologize to everyone for my typo, I should've never done that. I now know what a huge offense I have committed, I will never have it happen again. Again, sorry to all.
I didn't mention it because I didn't know if that would be cool or not. And it's not really "my" site, I'm just a member.
This is pure blastphomy, how dare you claim to know the minimum transfer!
NeverBeg is the forum I believe you are from, and I know pok3rjack is from. Yeah I was banned from there, from a misunderstanding, and I won't discuss it any further. This is FTP Forum, and there's really no need to talk about NeverBeg or any other place here.
I made friends with Jack there, and I still talk to him frequently. I had a brain fart though, and just realized that I already have'm on my AIM buddy list, lol. I still talk to a few others from NB also.
Back to the topic at hand. FTP has had the deposit/xfer thing in place for a long time, and I don't think they'll be changing it any time soon.
Apparently I need to ask for a change in the "no transfers for 90 days after you deposit" rule as well. I didn't know it was a rule because I've never deposited. Just bought a piece of Charder30 on another site, and when he won a WSOP seat, he paid me on FTP. But for donks that actually lose money and need to deposit, this rule is supposedly a hindrance.
And what's "Neverbeg" CompleteDonk? Someplace you got banned from?
why wonder ?...just decide
ZOMFG SPELLING POLICE!! Help!!!!!!
If you want to transfer 50 cents all you have to do is transfer 5.50 and have them transfer 5 back.. No big deal.
"Blasphemy". Am I wrong?
Sure, but on the large scale that I'm talking about, that would become a huge pain in the *ahem*.
Yea, I totally agree with this. It makes things very complicated for stakers, and I think it takes some business away from the site.
Btw, Hi CompleteDonk
I'm pretty sure that's way out of line asking like that. Use PM, AIM or something else, that's basically begging.
PS: Your signature is fking awesome, totally bad ass dude.
OMG so many NBers here. You guys shoud hook me up with a stake hahaha. I have been at NB for a while but havent been on for the last few months. Hope to see you all there.Last edited by IzanPoker on Sun Aug 05, 2007 2:21 am; edited 1 time in total
