Just a good yes, no will work. Trying to get a quick idea of good/bad hands.

    First two cards are down..

    1. aj6

    2. k38

    3. aq3

    4. t82

    5. 9Ta

  1.

all the hands suck for razz...

hands like these should be played instead...

    1. A-2-3

    2. 2-3-4

    3. 2-3-5

    4. A-2-4

    5. A-2-5

    6. A-2-6

these are some of the better starting hands in razz, and i would rather have my lowest card in the hole so that ppl dont give me credit for hands...

The short answer. None of these hands are premium hands. Against any 3 cards 8 or better, you're in trouble.

The long answer. Some of these hands can become playable in certain situations. Ex. Suppose with hand #1 you're playing Heads up and you have a 6 up as your door card. Your opponent has a Queen Up. This is a situation I like to raise with. To start you represent a strong hand and you know he has less than a strong hand. Your odds if Q is perfect in the hole are about even, but you're forcing him to have a hand.

The same situation could apply to any of these hands. However one of the biggest mistakes is playing a hand like #3 (A-Q-3) as if it were a premium hand. You need to hit 3 out of 4 times to make some kind of a hand. These type of hands are good for stealing, or if you do decide to play, if you improve no one will know you have a Queen underneath. Sometimes if the player can be pushed off later you can go ahead and take more cards. However if you have A-3-Q and Q is your door card, its best to toss it. Someone with say 6 4 3 will come in and say jackpot, knowing they are at least 70% to win the pot or so. Unless in certain situations where I think I can get away with a bluff, or I actually have the best hand, these are worth tossing.

i like all of the hands!!!!!! some i would rather my opponent were playing but if we are playing razz its better than holdem.

These hands are all clear passes in my book at a full 8 handed ring, unless you have a clear chance to steal a pot with a low door car, or you think someone is on a steal themself.

Unless I'm trying to steal or have a good reason to believe that my opponent has an even worse hand, I'll usually only play three cards under nine (including 8, but usually not 9). Heads up or with three players I get looser.

    Very bad, lol.

Unless your in an unraised pot with the A,2 or 3 showing and you complete.

In most cases 3 cards below 8 are ok to start, depending on the cards showing for everyone else.

What I really like is getting A23 to start and then getting 3 face cards. I Usually only hang around for 1 of them. LOL

  4.

all are pretty bad, unless you are trying a steal, then id like aj6 or aq3

  5.

Seriously? Or was that a sarcastic post?

Actually you just touched on one of my favourite fancy moves in Razz. Lets say I have a low card up, all the players behind me have bad cards showing, and one person with a low card flat calls.

Lets say I look down and see K-K in the hole, which is about as bad as it gets (rolled up trips would be better in a way because I'm less likely to make a pair on board). Against the right kind of player, I'll call the bring-in. What I'm hoping is that they'll catch bad and I'll catch good. Then, I can steal the pot with a bet.

This move can work a lot better than raising on a complete bluff, because you lose less money when it doesn't work.
