Private Tournaments: FTP Forum Surprise Satellite: Must have over 200 posts to play

TilterRick has said that anyone who qualifies must have 200 posts. I believe that when he says this, he is referring to those who have contributed to the forum prior to this tournament coming up (which began 1/11/08!) If you did not have 200 posts prior to this, then you don't qualify or perhaps you need to make your case to someone to try and get in. I don't know. I am just quoting TilterRick, who is graciously running this for the regulars. Please direct questions in this thread or to him and hopefully someone can answer them.

So please stop with the comments "it's unfair" or "I didn't know about this." It says in the lobby to check this section for more information. If you played and did not know the restrictions, it is YOUR own fault, not 's.

Edit: I am glad to see that those who qualified before this was posted, and didn't have 200 posts, are allowed to play. I think that is a fair decision. Realize for the rest of you, there were about 4 or 5 games played before Rick posted the rules. They deserve to be in, even without 200 posts. So please don't use these 2 as an argument, it's not relevant to you!

It would blow my mind what to think would what would happen to this forum, if KOOL2 gets their way. But I'm sure in Rick's great wisdom will

keep this forum running at it's all time best.

I just hope he dosen't get all teed off because of a few children who wants to ruin it for everyone who enjoys the forum games.

I agree coach, she needs to make up some laps and poles before being entered. Glad the whining and crying worked for this one. But it's all good, she won't make it to the first break and if she does, it's either because she is sitting out or sucked out 3 times to get there. In all seriousness, I think it may be real difficult for a non-forumer to win. This final isn't a turbo, so it will take patience to win.

+1.. It's unfair to the ones who have already earned their spots in and before this thread, I didn't see the minimum 200 posts stated anywhere....

It really should be only for forum regulars, though.. especially if only 1 player gets the surprise (which is what it seems like).

Well, in the last HE tourney I freerolled my way to the finals and made a won a bunch of FTP placing about 18th. I appreciate the freerolls as a way to inspire activity and don't really mind the requirement to participate too much but it would seem I could make 200 posts in about 3 hours if I really wanted to. I need to do some major catching up anyways....... LOL

Dollar, though Kool has unfortunately dominated this thread with his senseless crap, the other 2 of math98 and n8tive only questioned the decision when it came after they won. I believe they had legit arguments and I feel the right decision was made with respect to these two. Despite my little debate with Kool, I think at best it is questionable whether he should be in. The rules were established before he qualified. However, it was only a few hours before, and if he had looked prior to any rules being setup and assumed something wouldn't change, he may have a case. I believe that is why he was granted access in and why there is now a message on the lobby so that it is clear. I still think it's the person's responsibility to check for any rule changes and to be fully aware of them. Just expressing my opinion, and I hope we all learn from this and can get on with the surprise event.

I'm sorry, but that wasn't my decision, that once again was TilterRick's. I only asked because of the precedent set with RickTheRuler. Since this is TilterRick's tourney, he can set up whatever rules he wants. Just be gracious he was kind enough to let you in. If he wanted to retroactively reward a couple of people who finished 2nd to someone who wouldn't have qualified under the new rules, that's up to him. If you read my post about asking to get in, I did not demand or threaten that I better get in. All I asked was if I could be included and if not, no big deal.

Also, you claim we have no life. I actually have a life and do this with free time for fun. You, on the other hand, continually to come in here whining and being negative. Keep it up, and we will not be hearing from you much longer. If you have something positive to contribute, then do so. Otherwise, start acting like an adult, be thankful you're in, and drop the entire issue. If you're going to post in the forum, post usefull things, not this garbage that you've made myself and others read. BTW, what does it say that you have a bounty on you? That may be a direct hint to change your style.

I played in the tournament last night and this restriction was not posted before i registerd,and TilterRick your responce to sledracer01's question concerning this did not mention the 200 post restriction.I had fun and learned a little,but would not have paid to play in a tournament i wasnt able win anything for.

Just a thought, it seems like it would make sense to mention the 200 posts thing in the tourney lobby, where it says "Check the private tournaments section..."

There are plenty with zero posts who know the password from finding it in the past and won't bother to check the forum even though it says to do so, if it says it in the lobby that you need 200 posts maybe at least some of those will get the hint.

KOOL02 has been entered into the tournament and will have a $26 token bounty on his head. If he wins the tournament, he gets to the keep the $26 token. Good luck!

Only the ones that played before reading the rules and then crying and making a mess of the forum did they get entered. After this tourny, these 3 people will never post on the forum again until the next time they feel like they've been slighted.

Not really, but not surprised either. I knew there would be at least one person who couldn't get the concept through their head. But, if it makes her feel better about herself, whatever. Just do it somewhere else.

Also, before you want to criticize me again for something out of my control Kool, the opinions of Byamamoto, mzbuns, and fire eyes are their opinions. IMO, the whole abortion thing is a bit out of line as I have some strong feelings on it. I will not criticize their views on it, whatever they may be, but I think it may be a little over the line in this context and in this post.
