I meant if the opponent was short stacked with less chips (to a certain degree) than me. I still think calling here is throwing away $160 - with 5 cards to come, anyone holding 2 over cards is going to have a good chance of beating you. Fold and wait.

The amount of times you call an all in for your cash and lose with JJ against someone with a slightly better hand/coin flip I bet is more than the amount of times you will win with it - thats in my experience. I really dont get people that call all ins like this in a cash game unless you have something huge - you can just sit and wait for a hand. If it was a tourney of course I'm calling every time - but in a cash game its not a race.

It's $116 and we're getting 2:1. Even if his range is as tight as KK+ and AK, we should call. And that's a pretty ridiculously tight range. Folding and waiting here is stupid. It's a cash game, not a tournament. And it makes absolutely no difference whether it's us or the opponent who is short.

LOL @ both hands. limp/rr w/ JJ and shoving over the top of a limp/ rr w/ KQ. Both terrible.

    Maybe his note says:

    Plays outside his bankroll

    Subject to

    Huge implied tilt-odds

Enjoy his bad beat posts in the forum

    JBNYC,

Everything in life is a matter of perspective and I think you are letting your perspective get distorted. The most important element is the one you are overlooking. The most important element is that you are able to sustain this beat and still have money to keep on playing.

Beats like this are going to happen on every level. The question is if it happened on a $10/$20 where the pot would theoretically be 8 times the size of this one would you have been able to sustain the loss better?

    peace,

    dumwaldo

KQ is overplayed all the time in ...you only lost a coin flip anyway and he covered you by far. You had a streak going and its only probable that you'll have a losing streak sooner or later.

apparently i only win when i play "outside my bankroll" my man. A guy just called an all in from a $30 raise for $350 with AK against my KK and just hit an Ace on the turn...that's genius. I'd rather play $10/20 than this 2/4 garbage.

He is short stacked. I'm not often folding jacks against only 1 other raiser for only 40 bbs.

  3.

I can't remember ever seeing JJ played any worse in a cash game then this hand.

Not sure if we're looking at the same HH but I see a shove, not a call.

When your opponent came back over the top of you, surely that was a sign that you should consider losing $50 and keeping the rest of your cash to fight another day.......yes, you did make the right call, and its a sick beat but your practically on a coin flip. In a cash game if I've been re-re-raised pre flop with Jacks I'm lettign them go - only ever calling if i have a read or they are short stacked.
