Wow, Dj! You must do one hell of a lot of forum reading!!! You went back nearly a year to dig this one up???? You know what's allways been one of my favorite sayings? Its allways surprising what Christians will do for a lie that others wont do for the truth. Now, does that sting you a little bit? Because, I mean no disrespect at all, of course. Im just talking about all of the senseless murders, rapes, and brainwashing. You probably think I'm talking about the "others", when Im actually talking about Christians. Yeah, see if you and probably the majority of "believers" out there really bothered to study history and actually take in all of the FACTS that have occured throughout DOCUMENTED history, there would be a lot less confused masses in this world. But, I guess the TRUTH will be a long time coming for this society of mindless sheep.
Zeitgeistmovie.com
Watch that and maybe, just maybe, you might start thinking about things a bit more, instead of just blindly "believing". Or maybe you are too far gone, like so many.
lol - i just stumbled on this one
as Christians we are called to respectfully offer a reason for why we believe what we believe when the opportunity allows, and of course not to force-feed it down anyone's throat.
I have always personally struggled w/ the gambling vs God issue, but I believe poker is a game of skill, so I hope I will be forgiven. I also have promised God to give minimum 10% to the church/charity of my choice if I ever cash out in the WSOP, but Im not that good yet, and its easy to promise that now before it happens, we'll see.
I am always amazed and impressed with the decent and "Christian-like" manner many atheist, muslims, mormons (etc.) live their lives, and the incredible respect and brotherly love they show other people of all races and religions, and I think alot of Christians could stand to learn from them. One of my favorite sayings (no disrespect intented to anyone) is that its always surprising what others will do for a lie that Christians wont do for the truth.
And why aren't there any Angel Emoticons??
First off if you read the original post he was actually defending that internet poker isnt rigged and tied God into it.
For the fact about "Christians" not being able to gamble by God, that information is wrong.
Nowhere in the bible doest it say anything about christians not being able to gamble. I would agree if you put it before family or before God then it becomes a problem but gambling in and of itself is not considered sin unless it is viewed by sin by the person doing it.
Paul tells us in the new testament that one being in grace and in Christ Jesus can do all things. He goes on to say though that not all things are beneficial and you do not want to cause yourself to sin or put a stumbling block before your brother to lead him into sin.
And on a last note, im catholic and our church actually just held a no limit tournement. I think alot of "christians" today missrepresent what Jesus actually taught and they try to set new standards that really have no reason to be set.
And as far as this thread being deleted because its talking about God, well I think that would be wrong. God created the felt your playing on and the cards your playing to take down pots ( or not take down pots : )

What a ripoff!!
I thought there was finally proof online poker was rigged.
Can't we go back to bashing Canadians?!?
In before lock.
This is infinitely hilarious to me that this is posted under a "internet rigged" thread (and one that was dead for a year - what have I done??)
Can we at least agree that there can be a possible debate over religious beliefs vs. gambling??
For example what if your fortunes come at the expense of others. What if your living wage through gambling comes at the expense of addicted degenerates who are gambling away their family savings or their childrens college money. Im not so comfortable with that, so as I stated I struggle with it. But poker is different from other games of chance, so at least I am earning the money through hard work and applying skill. Who knows, I dont know.
seems the big bang guys dont put that much importantance on
spelling
Turns out spelling is not THAT important …
If seen this before, but it’s still quite interesting … Can you read this? Just don’t try reading it letter by letter …

Irony? Ummm, what exactly is the irony in your statement? Please, do tell, im dying to know. LoL Do you even know what irony is? Makes sense your a Christian, they're usually on the dumb side of the scale.
Can we bash religious Canadians?
No not really, someone just nuke this whole thread. Then salt the ground so threads like this won't grow back again.
Seiously the Bible does not condemn gambing. There is one mention of the Roman soldiers casting lots for Jesus' cloak. So if Romans are bad, then gambling must be bad. Besides that most arguments involve the assumption that gambling is not "honest work" or must involve cheating or is a get rich quick scheme, all things which ARE condemned in the Bible. (Well, its work the way that I play it.)
On the flip side there are at least a half-dozen instances in which people of good standing drew lots to make major decisions - leaving it to chance or perhaps God's will.
Acts 1::24-26
And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen. That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
So they trusted God to show them through a game of chance which of them should become an apostle following the ascendance of Jesus - talk about playing for high-stakes
IMO
you guuyz ar etarded.
Sorry guys, I have to lock this one.
No, idiot, I'm saying that the movie's existence is ironic, in that it is the thing it condemns.
No, the fact that it's unintentional is what makes it funny (and stupid). Much like your inability to understand a simple word like "ironic" is what makes you funny and stupid.
Only to brain dead chimps with the reading abilities of a 4 year old.
the bible was realy trying to warn u against
ENRON
He supposedly died more then once???
Hey im not comfortable being force feed your religious beliefs.
However I hope you have a good Holiday. ANd good luck at the tables.
Oh and Festivus ROCKS!
No.
Oh, so what you're saying is you think it's better that someone else take his kid's college money? Because that's what's going to happen if you don't take it.
We all know it; if the guy's a degen, he will lose all his money - the only question is who's going to end up with it.
And if your god is infinitely wise and omniscient, surely he knows the laws of probability too, and has already come to the same conclusion. So why would your god want someone else to have that money, while barring you from reaching up and taking money that is being freely and willingly thrown away? Does he hate you or something?
So, then, if I'm reading this right, your god only lets you get money you work hard for and use skill to acquire. So if it's fun or easy, or even just plain lucky, your god doesn't let you earn money off of it? Why not? He sounds like a real ***hole to me.
You see, the problem with your belief system is that you set up god and god's laws in such a way as to make him either a) cruel and hateful of humanity or b) an irrational control freak. Which I know is not what the Bible says about God... so you should ask yourself why your beliefs seem to say that about Him. After all, my vision of someone's who's kind, loving and compassionate does not involve a guy who smacks me around for finding a $20 on the street, because I lucked into it, rather than working hard for it...
Now if you would have said you were being sarcastic in the first place rather than using irony, this whole arguement would never have happened, smart guy. You see you just proved my point I made in the very beginning. When you say that something you said is ironic, that does not mean it is sarcastic! Ironic means that what you said is the opposite of what you meant. Can you not understand that that alone is not sarcasm??? Okay, wow, let me just help you out a little bit more and maybe, just maybe, you might understand it.
The definition of sarcasm:
sar·casm (sär'kāz'əm) Pronunciation Key
n.
A cutting, often ironic remark intended to wound.
A form of wit that is marked by the use of sarcastic language and is intended to make its victim the butt of contempt or ridicule.
The use of sarcasm. See Synonyms at wit1.
Note the word used is IRONIC
Note in my earlier post I stated that if you would have said, "Oh look I've made an ironic statement," or even, "Oh look, how ironic," you would have been using the proper word.
I think you know by now how wrong you are and how silly you sound defending your wrongness. So, if you can't admit the fact that you were wrong, just go ahead, do yourself a favor and stop posting.
And just for your information, I am a college graduate, and Im really not putting good use to it by trying to educate a simpleton such as yourself, am I? But what can I say I have a special place in my heart for helping the needy. And you are one needy sons of ****, aintcha...LoL!!
Ummm, replace the word movie with "The bible" and you will be speaking with conviction! Its called history...not fairy tales made up by humans about what happens to our "soul" when we die. And if you are a "believer" than you are also one living 1500 years in the past, when fairy tales ruled the day.
You finally realized how dumb you look?
You just got the irony of debating about irony when you don't know what "irony" means?
Your brilliant conspiracy film skillz are desperately needed in the White House immediately?
Cause the devil don't like em, dat's why!
Look pal i do not have a problem with you or your beliefs, nor do i have a problem with you sharing your beliefs. What i do have a problem with is prejudism. The above quote is extremely unnecassary. Honestly, this pisses me off. Don't judge lest you be judged yourself. I never indicated anywhere in my above post that i was better than you, smarter than you, or that i was right in my convictions or you were wrong in yours. I merely stated i was an Athiest and you start stirring the pot. You know nothing about me so do not make presumptions about me based on my religious beliefs. I do not believe your God would approve of this type of behavior. I seriously hope you start accepting people based on their actions not on their religious preference, you might just find some of us Athiest's are actually nice people who buy into the whole do unto others philosophy. Good Luck at the tables and please open up your heart and mind or at least refrain from making senseless and abusive comments.
There are so many things wrong with this latest post in, "The chronicals of an idiot," I offer no rebuttal. None needed.
Anyone reading this thread with even the slightest bit of an education Im sure can understand why I cannot go on with this any longer. I'm mearly wasting my time trying to educate one who either does not want the education, or is mearly to simple to understand it.
Next time your in a situation like that again, try using proper English and grammar. It goes a long way in conveying your ideas to others.
Simply using the word, fallacy, would have been a much better choice for you.
And, I hope one day you truely understand what the words, irony, and ironic actually mean and learn how to use them in a sentence intelligently.
God created man in his image.
The angels were created before us and satan being the head angel choze to rebel and try to become God.
So he was cast down to earth where he seduced eve and thus led adam into sin and since were all decendents of adam and eve we were born into original sin also.
So because of that God sent Jesus here to die on a cross and take our sin so we could again approach God and come to him forgiven through his son Jesus Christ and escapre the toture of hell for eternity with satan and all his angels and followers.
Jesus was born of a virgin and had no sin and through faith in him and his ressurection we can have eternal life in heaven.
As a catholic we believe that durning communion we actually partake in recieving his flesh and blood through the bread and wine that the priest blesses in the blessed sacrement durning mass.
Jesus even goes on to state further in scripture that whoever does not eat his flesh and drink his blood has no eternal life in him.
Christains will often argure wether Jesus reallhy meant this or was saying it symbolically.
As catholics we believe that he was speaking literally here.
Godbless...
I spotted three grammatical / spelling errors. Anyone found more?
And you are a typical fanatic that thinks that belief trumps intellligence, when one needs the other,,.
1) YOUR is not the same as YOU'RE - go back and take your GED test again if you ever did in the first place.
2) Sentance structure and paragraphs are critical to intelligent writing. Look at your Bible with chapters and verses if you don't believe me.
3) And as someone more divine than you once said:
"Judge not lest YE be judged'
If you are unable to apply the lessons of your own teacher than spare us your pitiful.....PITIFUL... attempts at preaching.'
Why are you even still here? Didn't you promise to **** off now that you've gone bust?
If you don't like it, don't read it - it was a worthless rigged thread anyway. And, I'd like to point out, the religious discussion is not causing any problems. The only problems in this thread have been caused by some idiot's inability to define "irony" and now, you.

You're an idiot. Do Christianity a favor and convert to some other religion.
How asinine. There's no Biblical condemnation of gambling anyway, just like there's nothing Biblically wrong with most of the things "Christians" get hung up about. Including, but not limited to: drug use, premarital sex, gay sex and/or fun in general.
But whatever, far be it from me to point out that your notions of God and Christianity are stuck 1500 years in the past... just don't go preaching about it until you have half a clue, please. It makes the rest of us look bad by association.
In the past, the mods locked anything to do with religion. I believe this post should be locked also.
Please
What I want to know is if we are all GODS children ,what makes JESUS so G/D special ? 8) 8)
Trying to educate people is almost always met with name calling and mocking. Some people just can't be helped and most don't want to be.
Oh please. I've wiped my ass with smarter things than that... "movie." Anyone who actually believes any of that tripe is... well, blindly following a bunch of made up, moronic drivel.
Oh, look.... irony.
Holy hell you're stupid. You go to all the effort of finding the definition of the word irony, and you still can't spot it when it's 6 inches from your keyboard.
Saying something and implying or meaning the opposite of what you said is sarcasm, which is a form of irony.
Geez, I'm being serious - go get your GED before posting anything else.
He's NOT the messiah, he's a very naughty boy.
Okay, i am glad you are satisfied with the intergerity (spellcheck its late) of full tilt. Unfortunately i was unable to read more than the first two paragraphs because of all the ...'s, extra letters and caps lock. In the future i would appreciate it if you were less elaborate with your use of these things. As far as Jesus is concerned, i am glad you are comfortable with your beliefs. I however am athiest and am also comfortable with that. I will not get in a debate with you about this subject so on that note Merry Christmas, Kwanza, Haunnaka (spellcheck again), Festivus or whatever else you may or may not celebrate.
didnt mean to come off that way.....sorry about that bro.......have a good christmas.......
Hehe, not to be too much of a stickler, the Sabbath is on the last day of the week (Sat.), Sunday is the first day. Merry Christmas to all and GL on the felts.
I'd ask if you're really that stupid, but based on your rabid support of that trash, it's clear you are.
The irony is that you'd have to be a gullible moron with brain damage, living under a rock to actually believe what that movie is preaching... and it's preaching about how these other people are gullible fools for believing in something with no proof.
Grow a ****ing brain before you try to participate in a debate, dumbass. That you could be accusing someone else of stupidity without being able to spot a textbook example of irony is truly painful. You lot are just as bad as the 9/11 conspiracy bunch, only dumber, because you're trying to disprove something that cannot be rationally examined, let alone proven or disproven.
Look, instead of giving everyone here headaches with your disjointed and fallacious ramblings, just go get your bloody GED already, enroll in some community college and give some poor philosophy 101 prof a brain aneurysm.
typical atheist...you think your wise...and you need nothen beside your self.......you think ur just here by accident and life is just that...an accident...all by chance......nope....sorry friend.......one day you'll realise you need grace and salvation.......and hopefully you realise that why your still alive....becuz if you dont.....you will still answer to God on that day....and in no way am i saying you will be condemed to hell....but you will be aheld accountable for everthing you did and said....and without the blood and grace of Christ your out of luck......
LoL now your trying to change what you typed, which was obviously not geared towards the movie

Oh, look.... irony.
So, by saying, "Oh look...irony.", your trying to imply that the movie is full of irony
I·ro·ny1 /ˈaɪrəni, ˈaɪər-/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[ahy-ruh-nee, ahy-er-] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun, plural -nies.
1. the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning: the irony of her reply, “How nice!” when I said I had to work all weekend.
2. Literature. a. a technique of indicating, as through character or plot development, an intention or attitude opposite to that which is actually or ostensibly stated.
b. (esp. in contemporary writing) a manner of organizing a work so as to give full expression to contradictory or complementary impulses, attitudes, etc., esp. as a means of indicating detachment from a subject, theme, or emotion.
So, you think that the developers of the movie Zeitgeist made the movie with the intention of irony??? That everything that they said actually meant the opposite????
Dude your really, really making yourself look less and less intelligent with each post you make...
But, if you want to keep it going, im more than game.
It seems you got alot of money to gamble, shouldnt you be giving it to the church so they can try to convert africa to christianity? You lost all your money because god wants you to lose!He told me.We play every sunday on his day off.lol
Or better yet just go away and stay away.
I said the movie is ironic, you witless retard. Ironic in that it is the very thing it rails against.
Moron.
Just to help your little brain along, obviously it needs it. This is a definition of the noun irony.
i·ro·ny1 /ˈaɪrəni, ˈaɪər-/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[ahy-ruh-nee, ahy-er-] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation

3. Socratic irony.
4. dramatic irony.
5. an outcome of events contrary to what was, or might have been, expected.
6. the incongruity of this.
7. an objectively sardonic style of speech or writing.
8. an objectively or humorously sardonic utterance, disposition, quality, etc.
Now having read that do you understand what irony is??
Hmmm, let me dumb it down a bit more for you.
Irony is saying something and implying the opposite of what you said. I dont think the Zeitgeist movie is stating what it states, and meaning the opposite, is it? I didn't think so.
I think what your little brain is trying to imply is that you would need to be gullible to believe in a story written by men 1500 years ago who also believed in possesion, ghost, demons, and evil spirits. Ohh what do you know I just made a real statement chock full of irony. You see I said something and meant the opposite...heh...that's irony
Get it??
Now if you would have said something like, "Oh look, how ironic"
Then you would have been making a proper statement. Because there is a difference between stating something as being ironic, and something having irony. I would post the definition for both words, but i'll leave that up to you, little brain. You do know how to look a word up dont you?
Oh, and thanks for clearly proving yourself the idiot. Anything else you would like a lesson on? Time for school children, don't forget your books!!
